Assessment tools

The faculty of the Joint Medical Program considers assessment to be an integral part of the learning process. The timing, tools and support dedicated to student assessment reflect our commitment to this learning event.

Overview of Assessment in CICBC

Assessment of our students' progress is the responsibility of the Joint Medical Program faculty. The assessment committee provides tools and aggregates data so as to present students and their advisors with information which will guide their progress and, when indicated, inform remediation.

The program has identified 4 separate domains of progress which will be assessed using a variety of tools, some formative and others summative in nature. The figure below provides an overview of the domains of assessment as well as the tools which are used to provide information about students' progress.
